Last year's Treasure Hunt winners with the shield

Mike, Dee, JJ, Neil and Julie - the winners of last year's Treasure Hunt, clutching a well-earned shield

17th Independents' Day Treasure Hunt - Saturday 4th July!

Teams needed to compete for the Treasure Hunt Shield!

Fancy a chance of winning a Trophy in front of your fellow drinkers with an added prize of beer tokens for your team? The competition is to celebrate Britain's independent breweries (there's over 650 of them!).

Check in for the Treasure Hunt at the CAMRA Good Beer Guide-listed pub, the Crown & Kettle, on [image] This links to an external site over which we have no control Great Ancoats Street, Manchester city centre, between 11 a.m. and 12.30 p.m. on Saturday, 4 July.

Teams of 2 to 5 are needed - the entry fee is only £1 per person. You'll need to think of a team name. There is a beer-related quiz and a course, as you'll be touring some of the best hostelries nearby to find the answers. Return to the pub by 7.30 p.m. for marking, the result, presentation of the Trophy and food.

This year's competition is organised by Mike, Dee, JJ, Neil and Julie - last year's winners in fact. More details from IDTH@sky.com.
